Pool Time for the Triplets

We finally got some nice warm weather around here, and that prompted me to go buy a pool, since last year's sprung a leak and we had to take it back. The other day my parents came up to help with the kids, and we had the pool ready to go for this year's first swim.

KJ was in the pool all of two minutes before his swim trunks
and swim shirt came off. He just didn't like them.

Sand toys make great water toys!

The swimming Nemo I found at Target was a big hit.

Elisha needed a snack. Pretzel sticks really hit the spot.

KJ likes to wear Papa's sunglasses

Juli had to give them a try, too!

Bubbles!

Last weekend we brought out the kids' new toy, a bubble machine. Okay, so it's really more of a toy for mom and dad. Okay, so it's really a way to let the kids play with bubbles without all of the mess that generally comes with letting kids play with bubbles. Anyways, it made for some good pictures.

Elisha was not very fond of the bubbles

KJ and Juli wanted to figure out how it worked.

Juli kept trying to "scoop" the bubbles into her shovel.

KJ finally decided to try to catch some bubbles.

Done with the bubbles, KJ and Elisha moved onto the swings.

KJ peeking out of the playhouse, looking like
he was doing something he should not have been doing.

Juli being Juli.

I found that the light in this corner of the yard was
perfect for pictures. The photographer in me came out and I
made each of the kids stand in the light until I got the picture I wanted.

Juli was the most difficult to convince to stand still and look at the camera.

One Of The Most Annoying Sounds I've Ever Heard

All morning I've been hearing this really loud, annoying chirping from outside of our kitchen windows. I went out to see if it was a wounded bird, and it stopped. I didn't see any animals around. When I got back in the house, the chirping continued. I looked out the window and saw a little chipmunk sitting by our flowerbed, making the noise I'd been annoyed with all morning. After listening to this for several hours, I can honestly say this is by far one of the most annoying sounds I've ever heard.

Swimming, Anyone?

So, apparently it rained pretty hard here last night. This is what we woke up to this morning:

I don't think the kids are going to be playing in the yard today! I'm thinking about stocking it with some fish and holding a fishing tournament between the kids. I bet Elisha would win. Juli will probably snag KJ's ear with the hook. Maybe that's not such a good idea...

More of the Triplets Cheering on the Cavs!

Triplets Cheering for the Cavaliers

Tonight is game six between the Cleveland Cavaliers and Boston Celtics. This is a must win for the Cavaliers if they are to go on to face the Orlando Magic in the Eastern Conference Finals. I only have one question for the Cavs today: How could you possibly disappoint these precious little fans?

Looking Back: Triplets Require A Lot of Bottles

Gretchen and I were reminiscing the other night about how many bottles we had to use for the kids. When we first brought them home they were eating every three hours or so. That's eight bottles each in a twenty-four hour period. Twenty four bottles each day! I really don't know how we did it. We must have been zombies for weeks.

Cute Things Toddlers Say

In this video, KJ is "asking" me if he can sit in my lap. Gretchen and I think the way he says it is really cute, and we've decided to share it with you.

Rainwater Collection

In an effort to begin to offset the damage we've done to the environment with the thousands of desposable diapers we've put into landfils, we installed a rainwater collection system to use to water our garden, and possibly our flowers, if the hose is long enough. We bought the kit from our local Home Depot store, and installed it in less than a half an hour. It was easier to install than I thought it would be.

Gardening

Last weekend I had the opportunity to put our garden in. We're starting small since we're new at this, but hopefully we'll be able to reduce the grocery bill a bit in the future. Also, it's nice to know exactly where your produce is coming from! Doesn't get much fresher than this.

Triplets Visit Another Playground

After story time at the library, we took the kids to another nearby park for some play time. Everyone had a good time. Elisha even tried out one of the slides! KJ and Juli got to swing on the big kid swings since the little swings were all taken. Elisha decided that she didn't like the big kid swings after she walked into one and got a little bump on her head, but she recovered quickly and found some other things to do.

Triplets at Story Time

The past few weeks my parents and I have been taking the trips to story time at our local library. It's a great program where the kids get to listen to stories, sing songs, and do some fun activities. Last week I took the camera along to capture some of the fun.
